Luz Botero Fine Art was founded in Bogotá in 1994; later moving its facilities to Panama City, and since then has been recognized as one of the country’s main modern and contemporary art galleries. Over the years, it has become a unique space that has hosted exhibitions of renowned artists such as: Tomas Sanchez, Ana Mercedes Hoyos, Roberto Fabelo, Isabel Muñoz, Enrique Grau, Edgar Negret, Eugenio Ampudia and Fernando Botero- some of these were held, within the framework of the First Biennial of the South in Panama. It has also been a space created for generations of young artists with far-reaching future visioning.

The gallery has a strong social inclination; it has supported local auctions for the WIZO Ladies Association, the San Felipe Foundation and the National Nutrition Board. In 2013, its director founded the First Biennial of the South in Panama, an unprecedented event that hosted nearly 150 artists from 60 countries worldwide.

This is how the Luz Botero Fine Art Gallery has positioned itself as a cultural creation entity that seeks to promote Panama as an undisputed art capital.
